Join us on Friday July 1st 2011 for the
26 Annual ‘Build a Quick Boat Contest’
Location: Beacon Park in front of the Pier Hotel on Beacon Ave.
Time: Boat building starts at noon – 4:00pm. Race starts at 4:45pm (Teams to check in between 10:30am & 11:30am)
Entry Fee: $25.00 per team, payable at Slegg Lumber in Sidney

Contest Rules:
- Each team will comprise of 3 persons.
- There are no design restrictions or requirements at all. You may build any craft that you think is appropriate (or entertaining).
- Your budget will be $100. All materials will be donated by Slegg Lumber and must be regular retail priced inventory. Taxes excluded.
- Material lists must be submitted by the above deadline.
- Only design work is allowed prior to the contest. No prefabrication or lofting is allowed.
- All materials will be delivered by Slegg Lumber, as ordered, to the contest area the morning of the contest.
- No power or air tools are allowed. Sawhorses, worktables and hand tools are allowed.
- Boats must be rowed or paddled over the appointed course. Any paddles or oars must also be built at the contest.
- All crew MUST wear an approved personal flotation device, and all boats must have a bailer.
- PLEASE NOTE: The contestants are responsible to remove their boats from the site when the race is complete.
